ABOUT US
our history

This company offered a comprehensive range of airfreight services to a growing number of customers, many of whom are still working with us today.

Sea Air Logistics subsequently became our sister company and have since expanded to 11 offices in China and Hong Kong.
1997
continued growth
Horizon relocated into their current global headquarters, located less than a mile west of London Heathrow in Blackthorne Crescent, Colnbrook. This move reflected our rapid growth.
These offices are home to our Chairman, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Group Finance, Business Development Team and IT.
The facility also houses our UK airfreight operation and includes a 30,000 sq. ft. HMRCE & aviation security approved warehouse, offering eFulfilment and storage solutions.
2003
OCEANFREIGHT
2003 saw Horizon International open their first oceanfreight operation, based in Snodland, Kent UK.
This major development reflected the growing demands from our existing clients for a single source solution to support their global supply chain needs.
2005
Introduction of ocean consolidations
Horizon and Sea Air Logistics developed an ocean freight consolidation service between China/Hong Kong and the UK, operating weekly containerised consolidations from all major China ports.
This new service enabled us to offer a competitive, reliable and secure solution to clients importing smaller quantities from China.
This service offering has grown considerably since 2005 and has been expanded to now include China/Hong Kong to US routes.
2006
expansion
Between 2006 & 2008, Horizon saw a rapid international expansion, opening a number of overseas offices in the Netherlands, Japan & Spain.
This growth signalled our intent – to become a truly “global supply chain company which speaks your language”.
2008
global network
To provide a truly global capability, Horizon joined two major freight forwarding networks, WCA and Atlas.
This exciting development provided us with access to high quality partner agents in every corner of the globe.
2009
USA ENTRY
In 2009, reflecting our growing TransAtlantic market share, Horizon opened two offices in the USA – Los Angeles & Miami.
Both offices offered both air and ocean freight capabilities.
Horizon is one of very few independent forwarding companies with such an extensive USA footprint, which enables us to offer a market-leading range of trans-Atlantic services.
2010
US EXPANSION
Between 2010 and 2014, Horizon opened three further offices in the USA – Salt Lake City (2010), Chicago (2011) & New York (2014).
All offices offered both air and ocean freight capabilities.
These additional offices demonstrated Horizon’s capabilities and reach within the USA – covering both coasts & the Midwest.
2011
SUPPLY CHAIN
Horizon has always sought to add value to our services by pushing the envelope through innovation in terms of solutions and technology.
This holistic philosophy lead us to formally establish a supply chain division, recruiting specialist individuals with expertise in freight forwarding, warehousing & efulfilment, technology & compliance.
2013
hiCloud
To support our supply chain solutions, we launched hiCloud –
hiCloud is our dynamic single systems solution, a best-in-class online platform to meet your every need across the freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain arenas. Our software developers have worked closely with our logistics experts to create a multi-functional tool, one that simplifies data flow and gives you the reporting power to streamline your supply chain.
2014
transatlantic services
Following the success of our established Far East consolidation services, Horizon launched scheduled TransAtlantic Air and Ocean Consolidations from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles in mid-2014.
These services provide our clients with a competitive and reliable solution, enabling them to move orders at low cost across the Atlantic.
SInce commencement, we have expanded this service to offer local collection hubs at multiple points throughout the US. We can truly say “we’ve got you covered“.
2015
e-fulfilment
To further complement our ever expanding product range, we launched our e-Fulfilment services in early 2015.
Our e-Fulfilment solutions, powered by cutting-edge technology, connect the fulfilment, delivery and returns process directly to your web cart.
Our e-fulfilment software “hiCloud Store” integrates quickly and easily. Whether the customer’s order comes via Amazon, eBay, your own online shop or through listing managers such as Channel Advisor, they are all automatically processed in our multi-channel e-fulfilment centre.
2017
new UK fulfilment & ocean freight hub
In order to accommodate our growing e-fulfilment and ocean freight business, we moved our existing UK operation into a larger multi-functional warehouse, strategically located close to the M20 motorway in Aylesford, Kent.
The warehouse serves both as a fulfilment and storage facility – as well as an oceanfreight terminal for international cargo.
Many fulfilment companies offer services from the point that stock is received at their warehouse through to processing orders and final mile delivery, but the client is left to manage the complex and costly process of international shipping, customs compliance and delivery to the local fulfilment hub.
Horizon is unique in providing a complete end-to-end logistics solution, managing the entire supply chain “from creation to customer” handling your products from your overseas suppliers door to your customers hands, worldwide.
2018
DUBLIN OFFICE
In 2018 Horizon International opened an office in Dublin, Ireland.
Based close to Dublin Airport in a state of the art 45,000 sq ft facility, the location provides Horizon’s clients with a full portfolio of services and products, including Air, Ocean and Roadfreight, Logistics and Warehousing.
2018
award winning
In 2018 Horizon International were included in three prestigious listings, including the London Stock Exchange’s “Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain” and “Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Europe“, showcasing the countries’ most inspiring and fastest growing firms.
To be selected for these lists, businesses had to demonstrate not only positive growth in revenue over the past three years, but also out-perform their sector peers.
In addition, we were also listed in the Sunday Times “FastTrack 200 International” list, a reflection of our continued and sustained growth.
2019
re-branding
To reflect our significant growth and development from offering a core service of global freight forwarding services into a multi-faceted supply chain and logistics provider we undertook a corporate re-branding and name change to HORIZON INTERNATIONAL.
Sub-Brands denoting the group’s three core services, Cargo, Logistics & Supply Chain were created, carrying the same values but their own brand identities – giving customers clarity on how Horizon’s services can best fit their needs.
2019
More awards
Following our inclusion in three prestigious listings in 2018, Horizon repeated this achievement in 2019 by being included in the London Stock Exchange’s “Top 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2019” .
This serves as another demonstration of our continued commitment to growth and customer satisfaction.
